Chicham Village & Bridge – Key Features & Significance
Location & Altitude:
Chicham Village is located at an altitude of around 4,150 meters (13,600 feet) in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh. It lies near Kibber and is connected through one of the most iconic bridges in the region. Surrounded by deep gorges and rugged mountains, the location offers dramatic Himalayan views.
Asia’s Highest Suspension Bridge:
Chicham Bridge is the main highlight of this destination and is known as Asia’s highest suspension bridge, built at a height of approximately 13,244 feet above sea level. It connects Chicham Village to Kibber Village over a deep gorge and has become a major attraction for travelers and photographers.
Engineering Marvel:
The bridge spans about 120 meters across a deep canyon and has significantly reduced travel time between Kibber and Chicham. Earlier, locals had to take a long route via Losar to reach the other side. Today, it stands as a symbol of modern engineering in extreme terrain.

How to Reach
From Kaza Chicham is about a 1 to 1.5-hour drive via Kibber and can be reached easily by taxi or bike. The main routes to reach Kaza are via Manali through Kunzum Pass or via Shimla through Nako and Tabo, after which you continue towards Kibber and Chicham.
